General Questions

Help, I have a new membership, but I don't know where to go!
We recommend that you take a tour of our facility if you have not done so. Your tour guide can answer many of the questions that you have or get you connected to the appropriate professional staff person.  Tours are available at any time.  Contact the Service Counter to start your tour today!

Where do I get a locker?
Long lockers are available in the locker rooms, but do not have locks on them.  We recommend that you bring a lock and keep your items securely stored in the locker on a daily basis. Kit lockers are available to rent. Please contact the Service Counter.

What is the Family / Special Needs Locker Room?
This individual locker room is co-ed and designed for family convenience. Use this for opposite gender children.  Lockers are available for use in the Family Locker Room.

Can my opposite sex child come with me into the adult locker room? 
No, adult locker rooms are for adults only.  With children, please use the Family Locker Room.

Where do I find a personal trainer?
Personal trainers are available for an extra fee. They will guide you to the quickest way to fitness. Make an appointment at the Service Counter.

How do I register for a program or class?
You may register for a program at the Service Counter located in the lobby at the Winona Street entrance. Payment is required at the time of registration. You may register for a class (BODYPUMP or Indoor Cycling) one day in advance at the Service Counter or by calling 507/454-1520.

Membership Questions

Can I join the YMCA for a short time?
The YMCA is a membership organization.  Memberships may be purchased in 3-month and annual contracts.   

Can I pay my membership fees monthly?
Yes, however it must be done on a Bank Draft Plan from a checking or savings account.  The Bank Draft authorizes the YMCA to draw funds from the account you designate for membership fees only.  Each draft is drawn on the 1st or the 15th of each month. 

When will I receive my membership card?
Your picture will be taken and you will be given a membership card immediately upon joining. Please keep this card with you at all times when using the facility.

If I pay for my membership out of a bank draft does it automatically stop at the end of the year?
No, the bank draft membership is a continuous, ongoing, perpetual membership, until the Winona Family YMCA receives proper  written cancellation.

How do I cancel my bank draft?
Cancels must be done in writing by the 15th of the month to cancel the next month's draft.  Click here for the form.

Can I bring a guest into the Y at no charge?
 We appreciate our Members being ambassadors in the community and invite them to bring guests to the YMCA. Guests must register at either entrance. A photo ID is required along with completion of liability waiver and guest information card. Guests receive one free visit per year. After that, they will need to purchase a daily membership (maximum of two per year). A guest must be 18 years of age or older and the guest of an adult Member.
