DIRECTOR OF HEALTHY LIVING - Job description

Full time, exempt opportunity will provide leadership for existing and future health, fitness, nutrition and wellness programs to create and implement effective strategies aimed at improving the health and wellness of our community.  Will conduct community needs assessments and partner with area health and wellness agencies to address critical needs of our community, increase health literacy, combat childhood obesity, and ensure the YMCA remains a welcoming and affirming place for all individuals and families.  Responsible for supervision of fitness and aquatic staff including hiring, training, scheduling and regular review of program offerings, facility schedules and related budgets.    

 

SWIM TEAM COACHES - Job description

Permanent part-time position responsible for providing instructional coaching to swimmers age 5-18.  Daily afternoon/evening practices and 2 weekend meets per month.  Fall/winter Season October - March, summer season May - July.   Previous competitive swimming experience mandatory, previously coaching experience preferred.  

 

MEMBER SERVICE TEAM - Job description

Permanent part-time positions available beginning in April with our member service team.  Our member service team enjoy regular paid trainings, regular work schedules, wide variety of tasks and lots of opportunities to interact with members and guests.  Ideal candidates will have previous customer service experience, excellent computer skills and the ability to multitask.  Applicants must be available to work a minimum of two shifts per week, have weekend availability for at least twelve months or more.  

 

PRESCHOOL SPORTS COACHES - Job description

Permanent part-time position, Monday evenings 5-6:15PM.  Seeking enthusiastic, high energy individuals with general sports backgrounds to assist in weekly preschool programming for children aged 3-6.  The program will have a different sport focus every 6 weeks, with a special "active family night" every 7th week.  Sports included in the program are basketball, soccer, track & field, volleyball, football, and more.  

 

GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTORS - Aquatic - Job description

Permanent part-time positions for outgoing instructors to lead a variety of aquatic fitness formats including high intensity, adapted, strength and cardio.  Previous group fitness instruction experience preferred.  Must be available to teach early morning or midday classes.  

 

PART TIME BUS DRIVER - Job description

Permanent part-time position provides safe transportation to and from program sites while maintaining a supportive and positive atmosphere.  May also provide support in other areas as assigned.  During the school year, schedule will include daily route for pick up at area elementary schools to the YMCA at 2PM.  May be scheduled for occassional weekend and summer runs from YMCA to YMCA Camp We-no-nah.

CAMP WENONAH COORDINATOR - Job description

CAMP WENONAH COUNSELORJob description

Seasonal, full-time employment May 25th - August 22nd.  Lead participants in day camp activities including arts, nature exploration, outdoor activity, experiential learning and fellowship.  May include overnight shifts, each employee will enjoy two weeks off over the course of the season.  Lifguard certified candidates are encouraged to apply.

 

ROPES COURSE FACILITATORJob description

Part time employment opportunity that will focus exclusively in facilitating ropes course & teambuilding events. The summer season will include regulary shifts facilitating day camp participants as well as evening and weekend shifts to facilitate corporate, school and recreational groups.  This position will potentially last for one year, on-call basis.  Mandatory ABEE training May 11-15.  At least one shift per month of operation required.

A variety of schedules are available including M-F, M/W/F, T/TH, AMs, PMs and full-day.  Position begins late May-August 28, with the opportunity to continue throughout the schoolyear in our after school child care program.  Facilitating prepared curriculum, chaperoning off-site trips, assisting children with daily care needs, and tutoring education gap studies.   Previous experience working with youth preferred, lifeguard certified candidates are encouraged to apply.
